San Antonio and Austin are already leading Texas in job growth—ranking third and fifth nationally—and our megaregion continues to attract top talent and investment across thriving tech, manufacturing, and life sciences sectors. Projections indicate our population at 7 million by 2040 and with four R1 research institutions anchoring our region, the San Antonio-Austin corridor is on track to become a global innovation powerhouse and one of the most dynamic employment regions in North America. This inaugural event served to highlight our strengths and inspire business and community leaders to continue the positive trajectory of the Austin-San Antonio megaregion.
