The New Braunfels Chamber revealed Larry Hammonds, Market President of Frost Bank, as the recipient of the prestigious Besserung Award during its 106th Annual Banquet and Awards Program on Friday, January 31. The award, kept secret until the moment of its reveal, is considered New Braunfels’ highest honor for civic leadership, recognizing an individual whose selfless contributions have positively impacted the community.

Larry’s selection was announced through a special video presentation featuring heartfelt testimonials from community members. Friends, colleagues, and local leaders shared stories of his generosity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the community.

“He is a servant leader that’s not looking for the spotlight,” said Nickie Drummond, CEO of Hope Hospice. “He’s somebody behind the scenes that is helping out many people in the community, and he does it because it’s what he believes he should do.”

A dedicated leader and advocate, Larry has played a pivotal role in bringing people and organizations together to serve the greater good. His steadfast commitment to civic engagement has strengthened countless initiatives, embodying the true meaning of the Besserung Award.
