It is an honor to announce that Garry Ford has been selected to receive a Chair of the Board Award for Transportation. No more than six such awards are bestowed each year, and his leadership in advancing local and regional transportation solutions more than qualifies him for this honor.

Garry has served as the City’s Transportation and Capital Improvements Director for 12 years. During his tenure, there have been over $400m completed or funded capital projects in New Braunfels.

He has also played a crucial role in transformational projects for our community to include downtown mobility and safety enhancements, redevelopment projects, and the creation of development agreements with Veramendi and Mayfair.

Garry has been a steadfast advocate for regional transportation initiatives, including serving as Chair of the Technical Advisory Committee for the Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization. He's received several awards including the 2023 South Texas Institute of Transportation Engineers Engineer of the Year and the 2023 City Manager’s Award for bond process.

Prior to joining the City of New Braunfels, Garry served the City of San Antonio, Bexar County, in the private sector, and at the Texas A&M Transportation Institute. Additionally, his impressive background includes having a bachelors and masters degree in civil engineering, and serving in the US Air Force Reserves.

Congratulations, Garry!
