Comal County Fair Parade: What You Need to Know

The Parade Route:

Due to the construction closure of the San Antonio Street Bridge, the Comal County Fair Parade will take a different route in 2019 by utilizing S. Seguin Avenue. Staging for the parade will be along W. Nacogdoches Street (from S. Guenther Avenue to S. Seguin Avenue) and on S. Seguin Avenue from W. Nacogdoches Street to Hampe Street. The parade will officially begin at 10:00 a.m. from the Hampe Street intersection and proceed northwest until its conclusion at the intersection of Bridge Street, just prior to the Landa Street railway underpass.

Road Closures:

To facilitate the parade, the following intersections on Seguin Avenue will be closed beginning at 8:00 a.m. until the conclusion of the parade: E. Faust Street, Hampe Street, Elm Street, Jahn Street, Butcher Street, Garden Street, Coll Street, Mill Street, and Bridge Street. Additionally, the intersection of Zink Street/Landa Street, W. San Antonio Street/Castell Avenue and E. San Antonio Street/Comal Avenue, E. Nacogdoches/S. Seguin and the 100 block of W. Nacogdoches will be closed during the parade.

Watch the Fair from Home:

This year’s Comal County Fair Parade will be streamed live from downtown New Braunfels out to the community - and the world. Viewers are invited to tune in to the City website (www.nbtexas.org/parade) at approximately 10:10 a.m. Friday, September 27th or watch via the City’s Official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/CityofNewBraunfels.

Parking:

Parking downtown will likely fill up quickly around downtown. The Downtown Association will be providing free parking and a free roundtrip shuttle service from City Hall to Got Toys close to downtown. 

Other information for attendees:

The City has public restrooms downtown at 401 Main Plaza, between Moody Bank and Crosswalk Cafe. The New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center will also be open for the public to use their restrooms.

The public is encouraged to plan for delays in the area and to seek alternate routes, if they are not entering the area to view/participate in the parade. For additional information, contact the Comal County Fair Association at 830-625-1505.
