Chamber to Celebrate Achievements at 106th Annual Banquet

Published Monday, January 27, 2025 7:58am

This Friday, January 31, more than 800 community and business leaders will gather for the Chamber's 106th Annual Banquet and Awards Program, an event honoring excellence, dedication, and contributions to the New Braunfels community. The annual event marks a significant leadership transition as Barron Casteel, the outgoing Chair of the Board, ceremonially passes the gavel to Terri Adams, who will serve as the Chamber’s Chair of the Board for 2025.

The evening will begin with the recognition of the Chamber’s Blue Coat Ambassador Program, which celebrates the individuals who serve as liaisons between the Chamber and the community. This year, Caryn Benson will be named Blue Coat of the Year, and Joe Timmins will be honored as Senior Blue Coat of the Year.

One of the evening's award presentations is the Chair of the Board Awards, recognizing individuals who have made a significant impact on the community in a specific field of civic endeavor. In 2024, these honors were awarded to Gary Seals, Garry Ford, Peter James, Ruy Lozano, Steve Taylor, and David Perkins.

The Chamber will also induct three individuals into its Honors Hall, a recognition reserved for those who have participated in civic activities over many years and are at least 50 years of age. This year’s inductees are Roger Biggers, Jon Ellis, and Wayne Peters. Their portraits will be permanently displayed in the Chamber’s Honors Hall to commemorate their legacy of service.

Finally, the highly anticipated Besserung Award, which recognizes an individual for their extraordinary and enduring contributions to the community, will remain a secret until the night of the event.
